With “tax breaks available at virtually every stage of the exploration and extraction process.” you’d think they wouldn’t try to dodge paying their fair share, but they do. And even though they are making record profits, “BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, and Royal Dutch Shell made a combined $101 billion in profits during the first nine months of 2011” they’re still getting subsidies from taxpayers’ paychecks. Seriously? WTF?! And if that isn’t enough to piss you off, the oil and natural gas industry, since 2008, has spent over $500,000,000 lobbying our politicians to keep this well “oiled” machine alive. Oh yeah, FU big oil.
